The company
The company was born essentially from a strong need for creation in self expression. I feel movement of itself is a universal language. It allows me to elicit my emotions and to transmit them. My sensitivity is expressing a bodily intuition, allowing me to develop an inhabited dance. The movement is born through improvisation. Dialogue with my improvising dancers leads to the creation of a dance. It is they who create for me.
Diversity is essential. The composition of the company is conducive to this approach: dancers of different generations and different levels of dance experience or artistic training mix. The artistic research of the Cie aims as much as possible to free itself from certain choreographic codes.
I do not technically direct the dancers during our initial creation phases but later in refining movement when my instinct calls me. It’s about highlighting the singularity, the presence of the performers. The essence of dance is in “being” rather than “doing”.

Vincent HODIN
Dancing has always allowed me to transcend words. In doing this I explore movement without anticipating and thus express that which is authentique and true to nature. It’s like a writer beginning with a blank page. In this way dancing has always allowed me to express myself beyond words in a search for a poetry of movement. I do not control what will spring forth but can be inspired by it! From the point of view of a performer it has always appealed to me to see choreographers constructing their dances, their vocabulary of movement, to be of service to them, to offer myself passively in space. Insights are to be gained when you reproduce a choreographed movement, repeating it again by dissociating the body from an emotional state. As a "creator of movements" I have always valued spontaneity, creativity and improvised movement. This I think is how we discover our unfolding Selves. The creation of this company is conceived to explore all these principles that have fascinated me so much since I started dancing.
With David Smith and our friends we embark on an adventure where each of us will allow the others to discover facets that can be explored. I feel grateful to all the people who trust me in my endeavours as outlined above.

I have spent many years living a spirituality in which dance has played an important role as a non-verbal expression of inner joy and La Cie Du Dedans is a way to renew myself and navigate the contradictions of life. , our unknown odyssey. Dancing is one of the many ways to achieve this. Our friendship with Vincent gives us the ability to work together. The recognized weaknesses of each being compensated by the strengths of the other. I admire Vincent's ability to inspire men and women to work together in artistic projects. Our sensitivities are not always the same but it gives us the opportunity to pierce our own fixations. I feel that in dancing we are knowingly or unconsciously living a great mystery.

And what joy to discovered in this project, what laughter and depths, what truth, what diversity of languages, origins, to be found in generations who come together around the same desire for authenticity. I dance to share the intensity of my presence, to find myself. I dance to meet space and light. I dance to surrender and rely on the flow. I dance to let the water, the fire, the sap, the emotion play in me and lead my movement. I dance to feel the correctness and ease of human conjunctions when they are not formatted by a desire to give them a particular color or meaning. I am in the company to share the presence in body and again, which interests me more than the choreography. I love the glowing and obvious beauty of the essence of moving beings. La Cie Du Dedans is an alchemical crucible where we melt the doing and from which emerges the movement of being.

Young juggling artist, the Compagnie du Dedans is for me an attempt to stage the moment. The opportunity to share an encounter with the present, to let go. The movement is not spectacular, it only tends to be. It is an invitation to get naked, to leave all the mediums behind that is hiding to explore what remains.

With a strong taste for bodily improvisation I am moved by my impulses to go towards what is beyond the visible. I am danced by the desire to explore the worlds of the sensitive and the subtle. When I dance, I am an extension of a deep and intense self. I am on the lookout for whatever can happen in our experimentation in danse companies.

Being a film maker and videographer for performing arts companies, I started by dancing with a camera. Then with the dancers for whom I worked. Then in a relationship with Lindy Hop and Blues. Then I remembered that something in me had always been dancing. I chose the Cie du Dedans to follow the path of my personal dance.
Neama LEWIN FOGIEL
I am a dancer, performer and designer. As a child I always had a hard time speaking, I remember feeling that the way I experience the world was not something I could put into words. I have always used movement to express myself. During the Cie rehearsals, I have the opportunity to rediscover the essences of my self, my love of movement and of using dance as a first language of communication. I feel connected to Vincent Hodin's research and I believe, like him, that liberated, intuitive and collective dance will reveal aesthetic subtleties.

I started by joining Cie Du Dedans as a photographer. A former dancer, for several years I had wanted to reconnect with dance through image. Never completely exterior - even with my camera in hand - Vincent and the performers allowed me to experience “from within”. For me, dancing in the Company is about meeting myself, exploring my sensitivity and thriving in contact with others. I find there an alignment, an intense pleasure to create in images and in body.

I am a stage performer born in Tucumán, Argentina. Very young, I discovered that there was something natural about movement. I practice artistic gymnastics, contemporary dance, yoga and singing. I see the voice as part of the movement. I don't feel a division between what we call "the body" and the vocal vibrations it produces. I liked La Cie Du Dedans because the work is significantly loaded with values around meeting people and the development of the being in a situation of artistic creation. Being part of this project means being in a field of opportunities, privileges and joys shared within a heterogeneous collective.

I feel a deep gratitude for having met Vincent and the whole company inside. Authenticity is the key word of the experience and chance is not part of the equation in these meetings. So much the better, it is the common thread of the common project. Learn to unlearn. Disregard any desire to prove, to seduce, to hide. Praise the real, the essence. Finding beauty in spontaneity, vulnerability too. Understanding that we are not only there to dance but quite simply to find ourselves through the creative process.
Going to meet your creativity is going to meet yourself and the greater than yourself. It is both anchoring in the earth and connecting to the divine. Everything that is experienced, danced, spoken, sung, played within this company, has a place only in the present moment.

Young artist, choreographer in the making, I joined the company at the end of 2020 as a dancer. Inside, I experience the pleasure of dancing in the present tense, improvising, sharing a space of research and learning, of meeting, of surprise. I am grateful to live these collective moments, and to seek together what "being fully present on stage" can mean, and how to share it.

As a dancer at heart, the universe of the body fascinates me so much that it conveys words, stories, unsuspected potentialities, strangeness, singular universes, grace... Being part of the Compagnie du Dedans is for me a chance: to be able to vibrate intensely in creativity, sharing, communion. And also a challenge: to be just, free of all the obstacles to the expression of the essential Being, to the emergence of the authentic movement. I have been dancing from a young age. It was my mother’s foresight that had me enrolled in a children's dance company even before enrolling in the Conservatoire national de Grenoble. My first desire has always been to join a dance company to develop my artistic skills in the service of creation and research. I really liked Vincent Hodin's company because there is a gentle listening atmosphere. This engenders great artistic freedom in the dancers, in their diversity of practice and expression.

Dance is the link between body and mind. It is an infinite space in which my authentic self is safe to exist, to express itself and to flourish. It is harmony, the reconciliation of these multiple facets which yield in all confidence before the integrity of the being. It is the rediscovered universal language.
La Cie Du Dedans is more than a dance practice. It is an integral and profound experience. Through dance research, I touch emotion in a precise and simple way. Movement is intrinsically intertwined with aesthetic exploration through social, sensory and spiritual experience.
Genevieve CRON
Dance had a regenerative function for me, an inspiring function in my research of positioning in relation to the other and the group, a function of capturing my impulses of life and death, a function of experience in the face of adversity. Le Cie Du Dedans calls on me to seek more openness in taking up space and in relating to myself and to others. I expose myself to it without a mask.
